Growing up in an immigrant household shaped my values early on. I was going to be an engineer, as my dad wanted. I studied mechanical engineering in Toronto as the safe option. But on my first big trip after graduating I was rummaging through a storage box and picked up my first film point and shoot. With that and my Samsung Galaxy S20 I documented my first international solo trip. That’s how this passion took hold.
These travels instilled a sense of wonder. The kind of wonder that made me look at every new sight with a sparkle in my eye. Travelers are privileged outsiders who find themselves moving among disparate societies. What a beautiful thing it is that our hosts accommodate our wandering, and how important it is that we approach everything with curiosity and an open mind
I spent a year and a half shooting exclusively on film, so my roots are very analog. I have now entered the fujifilm ecosystem with the XPro-2 and as I take on more opportunities I offer you my vision and excitement for what may next enter my lens.
